Rescued- Psalm 18:16-20
Psalm 18:16-20 (MSG)
But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out Of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!
Every single morning I wake up and have to remind myself who I belong to. I am not my own man. I am not self made. I am not the most incredible human. I am broken, but I am being made whole again. I am rescued. I am more than a conquerer. I am a son of the King of Kings. I do fail, but I am getting better each day. I am getting closer to the person and leader I want to be. I may not accomplish each goal I chase, but if I don't aim at something I won't get anywhere near my dreams.
When I feel broken, when I feel unworthy, when I feel stuck- I remember who I really am. I remember whose I really am. When I remember that I belong to the almighty God, I remember that I am incredibly loved and am able to walk in the confidence of who He created me to be. This identity gives me power to overcome, and power to be.
Who do you belong to? Where do you need rescued? What are you struggling with? How can the gospel love penetrate your current struggles?
